what is life all about?

how does life come about?
God. He gave it to us for a reason. which i have yet to figure out.
ok. then what about the life of an ant?
if you were to clone an ant you'd have to take something that is part of the ant itself, something which is alive already.
a tiny little thing like a cell.
but would you say that it is alive?

how does one define "alive"?
well,
so if you were to use chemicals to produce a cell,
( if it were possible, i'm not too sure)
would the cell be alive?
would it come alive?
what if you took a different organ from a different animal, connect it all together and by artificial means start the blood pumping.
would this animal be alive? would it have feelings?

i really wanna know.
it sounds really corny, this i know.
but have you really thought about it?
do you even remotely understand what i'm trying to ask?
i just can't say it right.
